Seller Spotlight: CONTEST | The Fashion Dungjen

Seriously, how cute are these Truffulla earrings? Rebecca from Ellen Edward was nice enough to make sure one lucky reader has some of the cutest earrings I've ever seen to wear. These Truffulla earrings were inspired by Dr. Seuss' book, The Lorax. They're reminiscent of the trees that the Lorax works so hard to save.

Made with 24K gold ear hooks, the beads are a bright ruby red, perfect for the holidays or anytime, really.

To win these fun earrings, answer the following question in a comment on this entry by noon, Wednesday, Dec. 10.

If you happen to be in Cincinnati, you know - or should know - we had our first real snowfall of the season today. What are you doing to stay warm? Are you even trying to stay warm or are you outside pegging your friends (or maybe an innocent passerby) with snowballs?

GO!! Woohoo!

Hi TD!

I haven't talked to you in quite awhile but I do enjoy reading your blog every now and again.

Gosh you guys just got snow?! That is crazy. I wish we didn't have any but it has been snowing nonstop all day =/

Anyways, as far as answering the question goes.. I'm in hibernation mode. haha I have my heat turned all the way up. I've been making some tea also! (WITH SPLENDA!) If I liked the snow and cold, I might go out there, but I am the exact opposite of a snow lover. Oh and I'm having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party tonight. Woo!

Love you!
Laur

and haven't gotten out since! Yay lazy days!

i cannot believe your friend elizabeth owns one of those wearable blankets. i saw the commercial for one when i watched television (the third time all quarter) on thursday night and was convinced it was an snl skit, or some type of parody. surely enough, the snuggie is legitimate.

.. as for the challenge...

Seasonal Affective Disorder aside, the snow does have a few positives.

1. it provides one half of the ingredients for a blue raspberry snow cone.

2. raking leaves is eliminated from the chore list.

3. if i have to be a loner at market point lunch and sit at the designated "you have no friends, so here is a high stool which faces only the window, and through such accommodations, spares you the uncomfortable social interaction of making eye contact with all of the students who do indeed have friends to eat with, and who, in turn, look at you with pitty, as he or she [most like they (several encounters)] finds a great sense of worth knowing that in the scheme of social heirarchy he or she is far superior to you" area then at least i can find some enjoyment in seeing how many people slip, loose balance, fall, or just plain wipe out, on the snow covered, red cement area outside of Siddall.

4. the squirrels are not as charismatic when it snows, and tend to be more reclusive than normal.

5. the city of cincinnati is filled with disgruntled drivers as the department of transportation tries to frantically learn how to operate the extremely complex modern invention: the snow plow, calling for numerous cancellations, which ultimately leads to spontaneity!

6. display of enormous phallic symbols is at an all time high

7. smoking suddenly becomes less appealing, therefore weaning off the moderate newbies.. preventitive methods for curing cancer and saving lives.

8. the skirts of our beautiful residents grow longer and the heels become shorter on thursday nights.

9. the white light reflects brightly into my window in the mornings, helping me to combat the snooze system on my alarm clock

10. there is a somewhat justifiable reason for girls to where those horrid boots called uggs, in comparison to any other day one would where a pair of repulsion.

11. shoot!!!! i just realized my favorite part about snow days in cincinnati has been eliminated!!! IN OUR CONSERVATION EFFORTS, THERE ARE NO LONGER TRAYS AT MARKET POINT!!!!! (sad emoticon) inches of snow will not be anywhere near as enjoyable as previous years because tray-boggans are officially an extinct species.
snow schmo.

After about a half-hour of standing outside Daniels Hall due to a mysterious fire drill (which began the second I stepped out of the shower...lovely), my motley crew and I quickly began a snowball fight, much to the dismay of the prissier residents of Daniels.

As I thoroughly enjoy the snow, the biggest change for me this season is a few extra layers (long underwear is a godsend--I don't care how dorky it is!) and a lot more nice, hot coffee. Mmmm. I also happened to get a pair of rather fabulous boots (NOT uggs, thank you very much), which I am most definitely looking forward to wearing as much as physically possible. :)

hmmm what was i doing...i was working during this snowfall...i was very heartbroken.
so every chance i got i stole away to the alley out back of nicholsons (where i work) with the chef, the busser and the bartender and had mini snowball fights...
anyone in a plaid miniskirt and boots in the freezing cold having an on the clock snowball fight deserves these if you ask me...we got in a lot of trouble for that.

I live in Texas, so it's not even cold here. Booo, I secretly wish I lived up north. I wouldn't know the first thing about shoveling snow. I do have lots of light weight scarves.
How talented are you! Those earrings are wonderful.

I'll tell you one thing I wouldn't wear... UGGS!

But I would wear my Banana Republic houndstooth boots with a big chunky scarf! But that's it... nothing else, ha.

I love reading your blog!
Those earrings are SUPER cute.

What am I doing to stay warm?
If I MUST go out, I'm layering as much as possible. I'm talking scarves, hats, leggings under my jeans/sweatpants, wearing a hoodies and my coat of course! Can't forget the boots...(with my jeans/sweats tucked in.)

Otherwise, if I don't have to go out I'm...
1)STAYING IN!
2)Sipping on Hot Chocolate :)
3)Snugglin up in my blanket (that blanket thing sounds awesome Elizabeth!)
4)Watching Christmas movies while doing all of the above :)

Hope everyone's stayin warm! :)
