Who needs pants anyway? | The Fashion Dungjen

I love Twitter. Seriously, it's so fascinating. It's like sending a mass text message to unreasonable amounts of people whenever you want. The people on Twitter, or the ones I follow anyway, are so clever and often tweet some incredibly interesting stuff.

For instance, yesterday while I was sitting in my room, presumably working on something extremely important (important by what standards is what you should consider) when Kaylee King, a journalist at the Chicago Tribune, tweeted a story about a woman in Chicago who gave up wearing pants for an entire year.

Naturally, I was fascinated.

So, instead of taking the fascination and stuffing it in my back pocket and squashing it under my big butt, I decided to take the idea, and run with it. Why not, ya know?

After talking to a few friends, we have decided to go pantsless for one week starting Sunday, March 1. It's no year-long experiment, but as college students with limited resources, this is what's feasible.

Next week my friends and I will all chronicle our adventures of being without our pants on this blog - photos, write ups and maybe an emotional video or two. What's even cooler is my friend Alyssa, after reading my column today, has decided to join in on the adventure all the way from Texas.

So, here's what I'm proposing: Give up your pants next week. Join us in our adventure. Take photos, submit them and be a featured guest blogger so the world can know how you handle - or don't handle - being without your pants.

Yeah, yeah. It's a little chilly outside still, but come on! This Chicago woman gave up pants for an entire year. That's 365 days in the Windy City, where it's significantly colder during the winter, without pants. If she can do it for a year, you can do it for a week.

Interested in participating? Leave a comment and do some laundry before Sunday so you're prepared!

No pants at all? How is that possible? I bet there's a trick like you're allowed to wear leggings or something like that.

Skirts, dresses ... And, if anyone wants to break my heart to wear leggings, I have said that leggings are not pants. So, yeah, I guess leggings could be an option. An unfortunate option, but an option nonetheless.

Haha. I did laundry last night in preparation for this challenge.
